The Night Owls Season Finale and a quick recap.

We've followed the Night Owls on many adventures since they debuted on Zuda Comics in December of '07.
As season three draws to a close, lets take a look back at all the crazy stuff that happened since then.

Since their memorable introduction in screen one, we've witnessed a gargoyle wedding, the Pied Piper playing in a Harlem Jazz Band, a blank-headed villain rip the faces off his victims, a jealous lover sick a werewolf on Mindy Markus, and seen a vampire cabal kidnap Professor Baxter and accidentally unleash the terror of Big Owl on the unsuspecting citizens of New York City! And that was just in the first 60 screens!

Season Two raised the stakes while revealing even more about our main characters. We saw a young Ernie defeat Big Owl for the first time, and we travelled to Mindy's fairy-tale home world of Funari. In between they matched wits with a magic gaspipe wielding gangster, a reanimated Egyptian mummy and Mindy's own step-father Rumplestilskin!

Season three is almost over and so far we've witnessed a new relationship for Mindy, Ernie getting payback on Louie the Gaspipe, The headless horseman making a grab for Ernie's head at the policeman's ball and Roscoe getting kidnapped and forced to join a traveling freak show.

Now, after 162 screens of Night Owls zaniness, the exciting conclusion to season three (and Night Owls Volume 1) began on Screen 163 with the re-imagining of a fan favorite villain and will carry on in high octane craziness to screen 180.

How will it end?
Will they or won't they?
What about Big Owl?!?

Come on over to Zuda to find out! Or I guess you could also wait till March and buy the book. OR you could do BOTH, which is what I recommend. Thanks!

The Timony Twins will be attempting to undergo the 24 Hour Comic Book Challenge again this weekend! We will be drawing at Jim Hanley's Universe in NYC from noon on Saturday the 3rd to noon on Sunday the 4th! If you happen to find yourselves in Manhattan this weekend, please, stop by! We'll be happy to show you what we're working on! If you've never met us before, come and introduce yourself! If you come on Sunday morning, we'll be sleep deprived and out of our minds! We also accept gifts of food, coffee and energy drinks!

Jim Hanley's Universe is at 4 W. 33rd street!

Timony Twins UPDATE

First of all, San Diego Comiccon was a blast! It was great meeting everyone who took the time to stop by while we were signing and sketching. Thanks for coming out!

Second, you may not have heard this yet, but we Timony twins have been nominated for THREE harvey awards!

The Night Owls have been nominated for "Best New Series" and "Best Online Work" and I've been personally nominated for "Best New Talent". (I know. I'm just as surprised as you are.)

The Award ceremony will be held this October at Baltimore Comiccon, so Naturally, we'll be there.
Details about where we'll be specifically are still being ironed out, but I can tell you that we'll not only be hanging with our pals at Zuda, but you can also find us with the good folks in the "Kids Love Comics" area!
Kids Love Comics is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development and growth of children's comic books in North America, and that's a goal I can really get behind!

I'll be sure to update you all with more info as I get it, but I think its safe to say, I'm really looking forward to October!

The final bit of info I have is probably the most exciting bit of all. The print edition of the Night Owls has a release date! Look for it in stores March 9th, or you can pre-order it right now at Amazon.com for $10!
As the date gets closer, we'll be planning some events to promote and celebrate including parties, signings, interviews, and whatever else we can think of! In the meantime, why not support your Timony pals and order a book?
It's our first professionally printed book ever and we obviously want it to do really well. We're very proud of it. I happen to know of at least one person who's gonna buy at least ten copies just for herself! (Thanks, Mom!)

UPDATE!
A friend of mine pointed out to me that it was inconsiderate of me to point you to Amazon when so many of your local comic stores would very much appreciate your business. So, in order to better serve your community, go to your store and request that they carry the Night Owls! My Pal Lionel Ruland of Bad Moo comics and games would love to order a copy for you!

Ten Things you didn't know about Mindy Markus

The Friends of Lulu has a short piece up called "Ten Things you didn't know about Mindy Markus".

Most of the people who read this blog already know a couple things on this list, but some of them are pretty obscure, and some have never been mentioned on-panel! I'm pretty sure even Peter didn't know all of these!

So, who are the Friends of Lulu? According to their FAQ:

Friends of Lulu is a national organization whose main purpose is to promote and encourage female readership and participation in the comic book industry. Among the goals of the organization are:

1. To increase female readership of comics

2. To promote the work of women in comics

3. To offer networking opportunities and general support to women in comics

4. To facilitate communication among women and men who share the organization’s purpose

So, there you go. That's a mission statement I can get behind! I just realized that Twin Comics has no mission statement OR a FAQ page... Oh well. Thank you Friends of Lulu!
